Regular Season Round 17: Beko - Andu Sibiu 81-77

There was no surprise in Belgrade where 8th ranked RomanianAndu Sibiu (1-2) was defeated by leader Serbian Beko (4-0) 81-77 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Andu Sibiu trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 24-10 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 77-81 at the end of the game. Beko forced 26 Andu Sibiu turnovers. Forward Jovan Bikic (200-2008) stepped up and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners and Luka Cabrilo (-2008) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Beko players scored in double figures. Popa Radu responded with 18 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Erik Sledinchi scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Beko have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 9 other teams. Loser Andu Sibiu dropped to the 43th position with two games lost. They share it with Minyor.
